Pelikan Souveran M1000 Fountain Pen Raden Stardust Limited Edition

The Stardust, or "Hoshikuzu" in Japanese, is a very interesting limited edition of Pelikan's Souveran M1000 series. The dark barrel and shimmering stripes look like a beautiful night sky.

Pelikan's Limited Edition Souveran M1000 fountain pens combine Japanese decorative craftsmanship with Pelikan's famous Souveran series. Raden is a traditional Japanese decorative craft. Working with small pieces of mother-of-pearl to create a unique and distinctive striped fountain pen. Each pen is crafted by hand and truly unique.

The first step to creating these pens is to use Japanese Urushi lacquer to give the surface of the pen a deep red impression. The traditional stripes are made from particles of white mother-of-pearl. The stripes are then fixed to the cap and barrel with a coating of lacquer. Finally, the artist individually signs and numbers each pen with the Maki-e technique.
